Classic Ham Fried Rice

A simple yet flavorful dish made with day-old rice, ham, eggs, and vegetables.

Ingredients:

  • 2 cups cooked jasmine rice (preferably day-old)
  • 1 cup diced ham
  • 2 eggs, beaten
  • ½ cup frozen peas and carrots
  • 2 green onions, chopped
  • 2 tbsp soy sauce
  • 1 tbsp oyster sauce (optional)
  • 1 tbsp sesame oil
  • 1 tbsp vegetable oil
  • 2 cloves garlic, minced
  • ½ tsp black pepper

Instructions:

  1. Heat vegetable oil in a large pan over medium-high heat. Add diced ham and sauté for 2 minutes.
  2. Push ham to one side and pour in the beaten eggs. Scramble until fully cooked.
  3. Add garlic, peas, and carrots. Stir-fry for 2 minutes.
  4. Add day-old rice, breaking up any clumps. Pour in soy sauce, oyster sauce, and sesame oil. Stir well.
  5. Stir in green onions and black pepper. Cook for another minute. Serve hot.

  • ½ cup bell peppers (red or yellow), diced
  • 1 small onion, chopped
  • 2 eggs, beaten

  • ½ tsp chili flakes (optional)

Instructions:

  1. Heat oil in a pan and sauté onions and bell peppers until soft.
  2. Add ham and stir-fry for 2 minutes. Add pineapple and cook for another minute.
  3. Push ingredients to one side, scramble eggs on the other side until cooked.
  4. Add rice and mix well. Pour in soy sauce and honey. Stir-fry for 2 minutes.
  5. Sprinkle chili flakes (if using), mix, and serve hot.

Garlic Butter Ham Fried Rice

A richer version with buttery garlic flavors.

Ingredients:

  • 2 cups cooked rice
  • 1 cup diced ham
  • 3 cloves garlic, minced
  • 2 tbsp unsalted butter
  • 2 eggs, beaten
  • 2 tbsp soy sauce
  • ½ tsp white pepper
  • 1 tbsp chopped parsley or green onions

Instructions:

  1. Melt butter in a pan, add garlic, and cook until fragrant.
  2. Add ham and sauté for 2 minutes. Push to one side and scramble eggs on the other side.
  3. Add rice, soy sauce, and white pepper. Stir-fry well.
  4. Mix in chopped parsley or green onions. Serve hot.
